There is one of the mysterious characters in Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley. If you look at the Character Profile on the Diary, there will be one missing character (???) between Flak and Ponta.
Who is he?
He is Zann (English version), but specifically for Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley Japanese version, his named Gol Dodo. Basically, he is a merchant who comes to the villager to trade, so he is not a local villager.
There is an interesting fact behind this character. Originally, Zann has dark skin because he is from Africa. Known from his speech, he is also not good at speaking English.
However, this reaped some controversy and made some Harvest Moon players angry. But I do not know why maybe the problem is racism.
Finally, Zann's skin color was changed to brown to solve this problem.
How to Meet Zann in Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley
It's easy and without any special requirements. You just need to save the village and be in the 3rd year. Zann will come to your house on Spring 7th, year 3.

Zann: Scrap metal. Go get. I make accessories.
Once that happens, you can meet him at the Plaza starting from 8:00 AM until Afternoon on Sunny or Cloudy days. You will not see him at the Plaza on rainy days or storms.
You may be wondering, "can we meet Zann before the third year?
Unfortunately, you can not.
How to Order Zann to Make Jewelry and Accessories
Making accessories through Zann is confusing when first playing this game, because of that, let me explain it here.
You should continue giving Zann scrap metal every day to make accessories. Approximately you have to do this for 10 or 11 days.
Whenever you give a metal scrap to Zann, he will respond with an unknown word (#Ref). If the scrap metal is enough, he will not say anything. So, it just shows a blank monologue box.
The next day, you have to give him one of the gems you can get from the mine. For example, if you give Zann Ruby, then he will make you Ruby Earrings.
You could collect, sell, or give to villagers these Jewelry and accessories, especially Alice because she loves it so much.
