All Crops & Farming Tips - Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland Guide
Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland only lets you plant four types of vegetables on the farm. This makes the game simpler and perfect for newcomers to the series.
Season for Planting
You can plant crops during Spring, Summer, and Fall, but you can't plant them in Winter.
Where to Buy Seeds
Lyla's Flower Shop provides all the seeds you need to start gardening. So, go there if you want to buy crop seeds.
Farming Plots and Seed Bags
The color of each seed bag is different: tomato (red), corn (green), potato (brown), and breadfruit (white). Each of them can contain 9 seeds of the crop.
The place to grow the crop is in front of your house; there are 8 rectangular plots available. You can grow 8 seeds on 1 rectangular plot, so the total space available for planting is 64
How to Grow Crops
- Press the R2 button, then select the hoe.
- Move your character near the plot.
- Press the Square button to till the ground.
- Press the R2 button, then select a seed to be planted.
- Press the Square button to plant the seed.
You only need to water your plants on sunny or cloudy days; on rainy days, you no longer need to water them.
I suggest you not plant the seeds on rainy days because the rain has a chance to remove them.
