Birthdays and Villagers' Favorite Gifts - Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Guide
Increasing friendship points (FP) with the villagers in Harvest Moon: Light of Hope is very important, even though it doesn’t significantly impact the main storyline directly.
However, it plays a key role in completing villager requests and pursuing marriage. If you’re aiming to marry one of the eligible candidates, you’ll absolutely need to raise their friendship points (FP).
In Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, you need at least 4 pink music notes, along with meeting other requirements, to get married. Similar to other series in the Harvest Moon games, the key to increasing FP is through daily interaction: talking, spending time, and most importantly, giving gifts.
You can boost a villager’s FP by giving them gifts they love (a.k.a. their favorites), especially on their birthday. When a villager loves your gift, red hearts will appear above their head. If they just like the gift, you’ll see a yellow musical note instead
